After Busy Season, Comes Layoff Season

How bad will it be?

2008 was a record year for most CPA firms and 2009 is starting strong.

But this is busy season. What will happen after the busy season rush is over? At the Winning is Everything conference last week in Las Vegas, Gary Shamis “painted a much darker picture.”

Shamis predicts this May CPA firms will be letting go many more staffers than in years past, according to James Mendelson, CEO at MSI Global Alliance.

So, how big will the layoffs be? And what can you do now to avoid the post-busy-season hangover?
