		<description>I think sales tax reform in the US is long overdue.  It just makes no sense to have different tax rates on a county by county basis.  The administration, compliance costs, etc for both gov&#039;t and enterprise get out of hand.

From a national level, I&#039;ll just offer up the Canadian example.  Implementing a national sales tax is largely credited with balancing our budget back in the 90&#039;s and reducing out debt-GDP back into the territory of reasonable.

It&#039;s like Buckley&#039;s cough medicine.  It tastes awful, but it works.</description>
