Joey Havens is the executive partner at HORNE LLP, leading more than 500 team members to build the Wise Firm© while passionately living out his life’s calling to help others see and reach their full potential. Prior to being named executive partner in 2012, Joey served as the partner in charge of healthcare services and the partner in charge of government services, respectively. He also serves on HORNE’s Board of Directors.

Within the profession, Joey actively challenges the mainstays of public accounting. He advocates growing leaders faster using holistic approaches and intentional sponsorship. In addition to his weekly beBetter blog, he is the author of numerous whitepapers and articles, including Becoming the Firm of the Future published by the AICPA. He was also named to Accounting Today’s Elite Managing Partner List in 2016.

Joey co-authored Creating Value: Your 90 Day Plan to Right Tracking Your Career, a book designed to help professionals jump start their careers and keep them on the right track, and has co-authored three additional books during his career with HORNE. Joey is a frequent presenter on creating a culture of innovation, growing leaders faster, and teaching young professionals the ABCs to Outstanding. He often guides other firms through the strategic visioning process. Joey joined HORNE in 1984.

Joey earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Mississippi.
