In the inaugural episode, our agents pull back the curtain to reveal the origins of their financial prowess. Delve into the captivating backstories as they share their personal journeys, unveil the driving forces behind their decision to become accounting professionals, and what led them to seek and find ways to improve the world.

Co-host Liz Mason, CPA, the CEO and founder of High Rock Accounting, explains how her dad used accounting lessons almost as a punishment when she was young, as well as how that drove her success in accounting. She also reveals some of her most interesting assignments, including audits for casinos and tax returns for prostitutes in Nevada. Fellow co-host Byron Patrick, CPA/CITP, CGMA, vice president of Client Success at the B3 Method Institute, describes playing a still-popular board game in school and how that prepared him for success in accounting. He goes on to describe some exciting career moves based on natural ability… and internal espionage. Last, fellow co-host Donny Shimamoto, CPA/CITP, CGMA, the founder and managing director of IntrapriseTechKnowlogies and the founder and inspiration architect for the Center for Accounting Transformation, tells how his original passion was in information technology. Still, his mentors steered him into adding accounting to his professional background, which paved the way for his future success. Additionally, he describes assignments that included being aboard a U.S. Navy ship during war games.
