Accounting student Shelley (pictured) is blogging through the CPA firm recruiting process. And, she’s having a ball!
She’s joined the Professional Program in Accounting at Texas A&M (Class of ’09) at College Station. It means she’ll stay at A&M an extra year, but graduate with a BS and a Masters.
“I’ve received the recruiting schedules for four of the six firms I’m interviewing with and I’m excited! To name a few events, there’s a spa day, golf lessons at the Traditions Club, skeet shooting, mystery dinner, paint ball, pottery painting, dessert tasting, tailgating at a few A&M baseball games, etc.”
More day by day:
- Last week was my first pre-interview dinner and interview with RSM McGladrey.
- Tuesday night was the first of the Big 4 pre-interview events, Ernst and Young.
- Wednesday night was KPMG’s dinner.
- Thursday night was the PricewaterhouseCoopers dinner.
“A-Whoop!” Indeed!
Sounds great, Shelley. We’re rooting for you!

Way to go Shelley! Your’re famous. Now I can brag and say “I knew you when…….”

OMG-you make it sound so cool to become a CPA! It really is, but how do you have time to study for those big tax exams during all this??
